Passion for horses
Legacy of excellence
Santi’s history with Arabian horses begins more than 25 years ago with the acquisition of an Arabian mare from which he began to breed, eventually owning up to eight specimens with the help of his family on their ownership.
After many years attending various shows in Galicia, it was in 2013 when Santi decided to train further in order to expand his knowledge of the Arabian horse and work professionally as a trainer.
Equine perfection
His first contact with high-quality Arabian horses was with Doña Marieta Salas in Ses Planes, where Santi spent some time learning about the care and training of these horses with Don Pedro Soto. It was during this experience that Santi definitively knew that his future would always be linked to Arabian horses.
Once his stay at Ses Planes ended, Santi continued training as a member of the team of various trainers, such as Tito Villa Castilla (from Luxury Training Center), Raphael Curti and Philip Looyens (from Privilege), with whom Santi worked for almost three years in Belgium, as well as Michael Byat (Texas, United States), whose team he was part of on numerous occasions, being able to attend prominent shows, such as Scottsdale or Las Vegas, which turned out to be very enriching experiences.
Equestrian dreams
From there, Santi continued to follow all the shows that were being held in different parts of the world through different platforms and social networks, especially those held in the Middle East, which he found especially interesting, which is why he decided to travel. until there, where he was able to be part of Troy Smith’s team in the United Arab Emirates, training horses throughout the Emirates and assisting Troy in various shows for two years, which allowed him to be in high level shows, such as those held in Sharjah, Ajman , Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah…
Committed to perfection
Other important jobs for Santi were also being part of Frank Sponle’s team in Germany, during the show season in Europe, as well as Gerald Kurtz’s team in Poland, in another later season.
After this, Santi became part of the team of Prince Salmam Bin Saud of Saudi Arabia and owner of Alsalam Stud, of which he was part of for two years.
Unsurpassed quality
As a result of the experience acquired from the mentioned collaborations, Santi Fuentes is currently a trainer and handler who shows Arabian horses in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahnrein…, where he has obtained a large number of medals.
In 2022, Fuengo Arabian Show Training was born, a center located in Galicia where Santi currently offers an Arabian horse training, marketing and advice service for all those interested in these wonderful and charismatic animals.
